Local Town Issues

The Richmond Republican Town Committee is a group of like-minded, fiscal conservatives who love our town.

A challenging reality exists right in front of us:

Richmond is becoming an unaffordable place to live.

We believe there is a growing need for our public officials to work collaboratively to reduce spending to ensure a high quality of life for ALL taxpaying residents and not just a selected few.

Presently, school budgets account for 80% of our property tax liability and town budgets over the last twelve years have increased to record-high spending levels with an 81% increase in municipal spending since FY12.

Every proposal that comes before our leaders should be thoughtfully considered relative to the financial implications that will be shouldered by our local taxpayers.

Our Town Council and School Committee members must work together to advocate for fiscal responsibility AND limited spending. School budgets, which account for 80% of our property tax liability, and town budgets over the last ten years, include record spending levels.

We must elect fiscal conservatives who share our values of limited government and fiscal accountability. As conservatives, we will ALWAYS PUT THE TAXPAYERS FIRST, using our voices to advocate for affordability and sustainability for you and your families so that you can enjoy all that our rural town has to offer for many years to come.
